Michael Wilder is a Site Acquisition Manager for Renewable Properties. As a Site Acquisition Manager, Michael’s responsibilities include managing greenfield land campaigns and securing optimal sites for solar development by identifying, structuring, negotiating and executing real estate transactions with a wide range of property owners and third parties for the development of community‐scale solar and energy storage assets across the United States. Michael has been in the energy industry for 11 years and joined Renewable Properties in 2022. Prior to joining the team Michael worked as an In-House Landman for Southwestern Energy Company where he oversaw land acquisition and development activities spanning 75,000 acres of leasehold in Northeastern, Pennsylvania, working alongside geologists and engineers in the development of the Marcellus Shale, one of the most prolific natural gas plays in the United States. During his time in Northeastern, Pennsylvania, Michael built in optionality for the company through grassroots leasing campaigns, in addition to lease trades with competitor operators, which increased the company’s leasehold position by more than 10,000 acres – paving the way for the development of 70+ natural gas wells with an allocated value of $450M, contributing significantly to the growth of the division, which saw total production increase from 75 million to 1.4 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day over a six year timeframe. Following his role in Northeastern, Pennsylvania, Michael transferred divisions and lead efforts for the company in Brooke County, West Virginia, where he was responsible for similar development activities including direct lease negotiations with landowners, site identification and acquisition for well site surface locations, supervision and direction of 55 field land agents and associated title/curative work in preparation for drilling activity, as well as acquisition and divestiture projects in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Michael earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Energy Commerce from Texas Tech University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
