
Bob Jalalpour is a Vice President of Business Development for Renewable Properties based in Portland, Oregon. As the VP of Business Development, Bob’s responsibilities include leading the team that originates, structures, negotiates, and closes project acquisitions/dispositions and strategic partnerships that accelerate Renewable Properties’ growth trajectory. He has been in the renewable energy industry for roughly two decades and originally joined Renewable Properties in 2020. Bob started in renewable energy in 2008 with a graduate internship in solar finance followed by 4 years in the wind industry at Clipper Windpower, where he managed project development and M&A for large-scale wind projects in the US and Mexico. After transitioning to the solar industry in 2012, Bob gained experience in project finance transactions and spent 7 years at Borrego Solar: 4 years leading Borrego’s sell-side M&A team as the Director of Project Finance before transitioning back to pure project development for 3 years, spearheading Borrego’s development efforts in the Western US. Bob joined Renewable Properties in 2020 as the Director of Business Development, leading the acquisition and late-stage development of multiple community solar portfolios. Bob earned his master’s degree at the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara, focusing his graduate studies on large-scale wind project economics, and holds a BS in Environmental Science and BA in Environmental Economics from UC Berkeley.
