Ben Foss-Michaelis is a Solar Engineering Manager for Renewable Properties based remotely out of Vermont. As a Solar Engineering Manager, Ben’s responsibilities include assisting with the development of internal standards, as well as the optimization and evolution of project designs. Ben works with internal construction, development and asset management teams in addition to third party engineers, material vendors, contractors and stakeholders to advise on and facilitate engineering efforts. He has been in the solar energy industry [1.1] since 2009 and joined Renewable Properties in 2026. Prior to joining the team Ben worked as a Technical Asset Manager and Performance Engineering Manager for Greenbacker Capital where he served as a technical reference to support the operation and maximize the output of a fleet of solar assets. Prior to his time at Greenbacker Ben worked as both a Sr. Design Engineer and Sr. Applications Engineer at Borrego Solar. Ben earned his Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical) from Northeastern University.
